I’m sad to have to speak on the passing of Joe Kubert.
Joe Kubert was an artist, most famous for many years of work on Hawkman (including the creation of his and Hawkgirl’s Silver Age look), Sgt. Rock, the Unknown Soldier, the Haunted Tank, Ragman, Tarzan, Enemy Ace, Tor, Viking Prince, Son of Tomahawk, Firehair, and so many more.
Joe Kubert also founded the Kubert School, helping to give all comics fans what they needed most….the next generation of talent, to continue the work of illustration.
I found it too difficult to pick just a few images of his work, so instead, I offer this slight breakdown of the incredible work he had done, so you, too, can appreciate all that he has done.
Joe Kubert was 85, having been born on September 18th, 1926, and passed on August 12th, 2012, and had been active in every decade of comics from the 1940s to now.
