MORE COOL STUFF: DC Number Ones Past 52

Yes, if you hadn’t gotten enough DC number one issues in September 2011, DC has more!

The Huntress was first in DC Super-Stars #17 (Nov-Dec 1977) by Paul Levitz and Joe Staton

New number ones since the original 52 have included first issues for the Huntress, the Penguin, My Greatest Adventure (featuring Robotman), The Shade, Batman: Odyssey (by Neal Adams), Legion: Secret Origin, and soon T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents and the Ray!

Here’s a little history on what DC has put out since their month of #1s….from October thru December, 2011!

Penguin first in Detective Comics #58 (Dec 1941) by Bill Finger/Bob Kane (1st cover is 67)

My Greatest Adventure (featuring Robotman) first in My Greatest Adventure #80 (June 1963) by Bob Haney, Arnold Drake & Bruno Premiani

The Shade first in Flash Comics #33 (Sept. 1942) by Gardner F. Fox and Hal Sharp (1st cover is Flash #151)

Neal Adams 1st Odyssey into Batman in Brave & the Bold #75 (January 1968)

The Legion's 1st origin in Superboy #147 (May-June 1968) by E. Nelson Bridwell and Pete Costanza

T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #1 (November 1965) with Wally Wood art at Tower Comics

The Ray shone first in Smash Comics #14 (September 1940) by Will Eisner & Lou Fine (as E. Lectron) (1st cover is 15)
