Not that the Fantastic Four losing a member was a small thing, but it was also an odd chance to showcase the coming Hasbro Marvel 3.75 figure 3-packs that would be coming out soon.
First one planned is the Avengers! And, it’s the first classic Avengers…Hulk, Thor and Iron Man…all as they appeared in Avengers #1. Wait…is that Wasp, and Ant-Man as well…yes it is. Seems this three-pack is bulging with little extras. A package to delight any Avengers fan, with Iron Man in his early golden armor, Hulk in his purple shorts and Thor, Ant-Man and Wasp all looking retro as well. We can only hope that Cap’s Kooky Quartet (Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver) may follow (and, though it would be hard to see them do that without Captain America, it would make a nice 3-pack!).
Next, X-Force fans get a few characters they have already had, but in black and white. Wolverine, Warpath and Deadpool get un-Turnerized and have grey and black tones instead. Good for all your ninja-like black ops! All three have had figures before, but these are ready for battle. No little extras here, but for X-Force fans, this may be interesting. And, more X-Men figures are coming, with a representation in figure form of Giant-Size X-Men #1!
And, showing that Marvel may have given Hasbro some advanced notice (or just that Sue hadn’t had a figure), the Thing, Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman will have a Fantastic 3-pack as well in their more modern uniforms. This also includes a robotic HERBIE figure (for those that remember the Human Torch-less animated series, this IS a version of the Fantastic Four!). Now, if we could just get Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Girl to be made as they had appeared on Fantastic Four #1 (or at least #3, when they first got their costumes!).
